Darrell and I are both from Washington
State. I was born in Tacoma and raised around the Puget Sound. He was born in Aberdeen and lived most of his childhood in Cosmopolis and Alaska.
We met in Tacoma in early
1997 while we were both attending college. We realized quickly we were meant to be together. We Hand fasted in August and were married on Veterans Day 1997. He'll never have an excuse to forget our anniversary!
And although he's not Kylea's biological father, he loves her as if she was his own flesh and blood. I was truly lucky to find my knight in shining armor.
Darrell
decided to rejoin the military and off we went to Ft Bragg for 3 years. Learning to be a military wife was tough, and having him jump out of
perfectly good airplanes in the 82nd Airborne ... well that was pure insanity. :) Our son Raven was born at Womack Hospital at Ft Bragg in 1998.
Our little souvenir of North Carolina!
Our next duty station was Schofield Barracks, Wahiawa HI ... ahhhh... pure heaven.
While some folks don't like the island life, we found it wonderful. Having a view of North Shore every time we left the house was fantastic. And the weather ?? Well .... opening Christmas presents in t-shirts, shorts and
bare feet with the windows wide open was a new experience for us Pacific North-Westerners!! The Cane Spiders were a bit un-nerving but we made do .... :)
We returned back home to
the Pacific Northwest after only a year in Hawaii due to medical reasons. We were stationed here at Ft Lewis WA for over 2 years before Darrell left the service after 13 years of active duty (SSG). I have my own business called
The Badgers Den. It has changed dramatically over the last couple of years, becoming a large internet enterprise as well as
merchanting at SCA events, Renaissance Fairs and other retail events.
In February of 2005 we opened our retail location
in Everett WA. It kept us very busy. However, we soon discovered that my husband, though a wonderful man simply does not like Civilian Life! After two
years he re-enlisted and is currently in the Active Army Reserves. We sold our physical store location as we had to move down near Ft Lewis but
still maintain a growing, international website presence as well as the SciFi Conventions, Medieval Events and other Pacific Northwest Activities!
